PreAlgebra 15 to 29

Day 15 - Solving Proportions
  1. Watch this video on solving proportions. PAGE 1  - PRINT out the worksheet - complete it and glue it into your NB.  Write DAY 15 at the top with the date and title.
  2. Remember to use CHROME and log in - Watch this series of videos and take the quizzes.
  3. Copy this into your NB.

  1. Watch the video on Slopes. PAGE 1  - PRINT out the worksheet - complete it and glue it into your NB.  Write DAY 16 at the top with the date and title.

Day 17 Converting Measurements

Day 19 Square Roots

Day 20 SQUARE ROOTS
  1. Watch the last 2 videos on this page.
  2. Play this game.
  3. PAGE 1 - Print and complete this worksheet.
Day 22 RADICALS
  1. Watch the presentation on operations using radicals on page 8.
  2. Read through the examples of adding and subtracting with radical numbers. 
  3. PAGE 1 - Then do the first 3 example problems of adding and subtracting radical numbers. (Write Day 22, Date and Title on your page!!)
  4. Check your answers.
  5. PAGE 2 - Work through, meaning write out, the first three examples of multiplying radicals.
  6. PAGE 3 - What’s the answer to this question?
Day 23 RATIONAL NUMBERS
  1. Watch the presentation on rational and irrational numbers.
  2. PLAY the numbers rational or irrational game.
  3. Page 1 - Where do these numbers belong on the number line? Take a screenshot and print it,then glue in your NB.
Day 24 Pythagorean Theorem
  1. Watch this video and this video. 
  2. Using the Pythagorean Theorem  PAGE 1  - PRINT out the worksheet - complete it and glue it into your NB.  Write DAY 24 at the top with the date and title.
  3. Play Jeopardy.
  4. PAGE 2 - copy this page into your NB.
Day 25 Square Roots
  1. Square Roots, Cube Roots, and nth Roots  Read and just answer the questions on the Cube Roots page.  Take a screenshot of the test when you are finished and print it,then glue in your NB. 
  2. Play prodigy. (It will probably only let you play so far before asking you to make an account. It’s free to do so.)
Days 26 Exponents
  1. Numbers  Do pages 12 and 13. Read, watch the videos and answer the questions about exponents.
  2. Watch this video.  PAGE 1  - PRINT out the worksheet - complete it and glue it into your NB.  Write DAY 26 at the top with the date and title.
  3. PAGE 1 - copy this page into your NB.
Day 27 Exponents
  1. Watch the presentation on page 2 on exponents. 
  2. PAGE 1- the review activity at the bottom of the page. After you get them in the correct squares, take a screenshot and print it,then glue in your NB.
  3. PAGE 2 and complete this worksheet.
  4. Use the key to check your answers when you are done.

 Day 28 Scientific Notation
  1. Numbers  Do pages 17 and 18. On page 17 click on the link (more resources in top corner) to play with scientific notation.
  2. Numbers  Do page 20. (Review)

Day 29 Scientific Notation
  1. Take the King Kong quiz. 
  2. Try these word problems. You only get 10 minutes on this site (as a visitor) so stay focused.  Tell me what you got before moving on.

Day 2 Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying Decimals Review
  1. Watch this video 6.2.1.  Print and complete the worksheet.

Day 3  Dividing Decimals - Converting Fractions
  1. Watch this video 6.2.2 (Dividing Decimals).  Print and complete the worksheet.
  2. Go to this site this site click on page 14, and do the match up activity.
  3. Practice converting fractions to decimals. (You can use a calculator.)
  4. Practice converting decimals to fractions.
  5. Play this game.  When multiplying by 10, you are just moving the decimal over and/or adding zeros.
  6. Play this game.  Remember to mentally change the decimals to tenths. (1/5 = 2/10)
Day 4  - Compare and Order Fractions, Decimals, and Percents
  1. Watch this video 6.2.3.  Print and complete the worksheet.
  2. Practice converting decimals to percents.
  3. Practice converting percents to decimals.
  4. Play this Space game.  Then play this Fruit Shoot game.
  5. Play Jeopardy, if you want more practice.
*Day 5 - Finding Percent
  1. Copy this page into the next open page of your NB (date it)
  2. Watch this video about percents. Then go here.  Get 10 correct before quitting, but if you still don't get it, then watch the video in #3.
  3. If you still don't understand then go to this video 6.2.4 (Finding the percent).  Print and complete the worksheet.
  4. Look in your NB for the gold puzzle sheet.
  5. Complete the percent foldable and glue it in your NB (date it).
Day 6 Percentage of a Whole
  1. Copy this page into the next page of your NB (date it).

Day 8 - Multiply and Divide fractions

  3. Go to this video site and choose Fractions – Multiply and Divide from the first menu column.
  4. Now practice multiplying fractions.
  5. Play Fraction Basketball.
  6. Play this game OR Jeopardy.
  7. Go to this site and complete at least 10 correct answers before you quit.
  8. Look in your NB for the golden puzzle sheet - Abracadabra, finish it and put it on page 36 in your NB.
Day 9 Coordinate Plane
  1. Go to this site.  Sign in and follow the video instructions.
  2. Copy this page into the next page of your NB (date it)
  3. Add the coordinate plane foldable into your NB.
  4. Watch this video AND this one on the coordinate plane.
  5. Find the house location.
  6. If you need more instruction, watch this video and do the quiz.
  7. Pick one of these games to play for 15 minutes.
Day 10 Coordinate Plane
  1. Go to this site.  Sign in and follow the video instructions.
  2. Print these pages - complete them and put into the next page of your NB (date it)

  4. Find the Winter Holiday Graphing sheet in your NB.  Complete and color it and glue it in your NB.

  1. Practice cross multiplying to solve a problem. Read and answer the questions.
